Meet the Author: Cheryl L. Zemke

Who is Cheryl Zemke?

Cheryl was born and raised in southern Michigan. She has always had a love for all things artistic.

She attended Lawrence Technological University and received a B.S.B.A. At LTU she held many different positions as a member of Delta Tau Sigma.

While living in Florida she received an Associate Degree in Merchandising at the International Academy of Merchandising and Design.

About the Author:

Cheryl L. Zemke was inspired by the love of nature. Beginning at a young age, she camped with her parents and older sibling, at a nearby state park. This was the very same park that inspired her to write Defenders of Naturion.

While sketching with her son they began to create characters out of what they saw in nature, and soon the story of Naturion was formed. It was an intense labor of love and enjoyment. This story is one that raises ones curiosity as you are introduced to new characters and new creatures. You become intrigued with the relationships and the beauty of nature.

This is the first book for Cheryl. However, she has been drawing for many years. She allowed her passion for art to expand into this book and was amazed at how it grew into more than a novel, the words seemed to come alive. The characters took on a personality of their own.

She hopes to expand the book into a series.

General Interest: I love to be involved in anything creative. From a young age, the arts has been my sole existence. Every job that I have ever had involves me in some way with the arts or creativity. From managing an art gallery... working with visual displays... to working at Home Shopping Network and managing Joann Fabrics, it all has prepared me for owning my own company. But, most of all it has filled my inner creative desires. I can never get enough of it. The more that I do, the more that I want to do...if that makes sense. LOL

Music: Enjoy music of all kinds specially: Journey(with or without Steve Perry), Alicia Keys, Anita Baker, Aerosmith, Led Zeppelin and anything sung by Robert Plant, Patsy Cline, Lenny Kravitz, Gwen Stefani, Duffy, Coldplay, Soundtracks from Sleepless in Seattle, U2, Usher, Joss Stone, .......and ultimate favorite that will be playing in heaven when I get there... Roy Orbison.

Movies: Pride and Prejudice, The Devil wears Prada, Memoirs of a Geisha, Austin Powers, Pink Panther I & II, Sleepless in Seattle... everyone has to love the old classics that make you cry every time you watch then like Old Yeller and Gorillas in the Mist.

Television: Monk, Ghost Whisperer, Lost, Project Runway... if it ever gets back on TV. Oh! and did I mention I love LOST.
